Wilton names interim head of schools

WILTON – Donald LaPlante, of Enfield, was named interim superintendent for the Wilton-Lyndeborough School District after an interview by the School Board last week.

He will serve for the 2012-13 school year starting next month, replacing high school Principal Brian Bagley, who has been acting superintendent since the resignation of Trevor Ebel in April.

LaPlante holds a doctorate in education from the University of Sarasota and a master’s degree from Plymouth State College.

He was most recently superintendent in Hartford, Vt., and prior to that in Sullivan, Maine. He has served as principal or other administrator at White Mountain Regional, Lancaster, Whitefield and Enfield, all in New Hampshire.

The School Board will now form a committee to search for a permanent superintendent to take over in July 2013.
