Cannon fired to signal Veterans Day in Lyndeborough

LYNDEBOROUGH – Several dozen people attended Veterans’ Day ceremonies beside the Town Hall on Monday morning.

Ceremonies were conducted by members of the Lafayette Artillery Company, led by member Lorraine Strube and Capt. Walter Holland.

Veterans Marcy Sanborn and Wayne Scott and Sgt. Arron Rochette were invited to fire the 1844 brass cannon, each receiving the spent firing pin as a souvenir.

At the close of the program, “Taps” was played by Artillery Junior Member RJ Humphries.

Everyone was then invited into the hall for coffee, desserts and a chance to socialize.
