Longest Night Service slated for Dec. 19 in Wilton

WILTON – The Second Congregational Church will again hold a Longest Night Service on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m.

Pastor Mark Brockmeier says the service “is for those who cannot fully embrace the joy of the season because of losses due to death, divorce, illness or missing certain loved ones and friends in our lives.”

People are invited to hang an ornament or small picture on the tree of remembrance and joy at the service “so that loved ones can be uplifted by our congregation in prayer to God as part of our community mission to heal the broken hearts we encounter in our daily lives.”

All are welcome and need not be a member of the church to participate in this quiet, contemplative service.
