Interim administrators at Soughegan in Amherst become principal and dean

AMHERST – The two men who have been serving as interim principal and interim dean of students at Souhegan High School have been appointed to the posts.

Rob Scully, a longtime staff member who served as English teacher, advisor and coach at the school, is the new principal.

Peter Gagnon joined the school in August when he was appointed interim dean of students.

The School Board voted on the appointments at its December meeting.

“Given what I have seen over the past few months, both Rob and Peter are strong and trusted additions to our leadership team,” said Superintendent Peter Warburton, in a press release.

Scully joined the school, which serves Amherst and Mont Vernon, in 1999 and served as dean of students during the 2012-13 school year before being appointed interim principal.

He replaces Jon Ingram, who resigned unexpectedly last summer after serving for three years.

Gagnon was coordinator of the international baccalaureate program at Bedford High School before he came to Souhegan.
