Filing period and open positions in Souhegan Valley

The filing period for town and school offices opens Wednesday, Jan. 22 and closes at 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31.

Amherst and Mont Vernon

In the Amherst School District, there are two open School Board seats, for three years each, as well as three-year positions for district moderator, treasurer and clerk.

For the Souhegan Cooperative School District, there are two open seats for School Board members from Amherst and one three-year School Board seat for a Mont Vernon resident.

Candidates for both Amherst and Souhegan positions can call Nancy Baker at 673-7659.

In Mont Vernon, there is one open three-year spot on the School Board and one-year positions for district clerk, moderator and treasurer. Candidates can call Sue Leger at 672-9583.

On the town side, there are two open positions for selectmen, one one-year seat and one three-year seat.

Also on the ballot will be one cemetery trustee for three years, two library trustees for three years, one supervisor of the checklist for six years, one town clerk for three years, one town moderator for two years, one trustee of the trust fund for three years and one zoning board member for three years.

For the town of Mont Vernon, there is one selectmen seat for three years, one treasurer seat for one year, one tax collector position for one year, one moderator for two years, one welfare officer for one year, one supervisor of the checklist for six years, one trustee of the trust funds for three years, one library trustee for three years, one cemetery trustee for three years and one fire warden for three years.

Milford

There are two open school board seats, both with three-year terms. There are also open positions for school district treasurer, clerk and moderator, all two-year terms.

On the town side, there are two three-year seats open for selectmen, one three-year seat for cemetery trustee, two open three-year seats for library trustee, one open position of checklist supervisor with a six-year term, town moderator with a three-year term, trustee of the trust funds a three-year term, and water and wastewater commissioner, a three-year term.

File with the town clerk in Town Hall from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m., Monday-Friday. The office will be open from 3-5 p.m. on the last day of filling, Friday, Jan. 31.

Lyndeborough

In Lyndeborough, there is one open seat on the Board of Selectmen for a three-year term, one seat on the budget committee for a two-year term and three seats with three-year terms. The zoning board has two seats with three-year terms.

Also up for election this year is a library trustee position with a three-year term, trustee of trust funds spot with a three-year term, and supervisors of the checklist with one seat for a six-year term.

Town election will be held from 10 a.m.-7 p.m., March 11, at Town Hall.

Wilton

In Wilton, there is one seat for selectman with a three-year term. Several other positions are available, including town clerk for three years, moderator two years, treasurer, one year, and one supervisor of the checklist with a six-year term.

There is one trustee of the trust funds seat with a three-year term and one cemetery trustee position with a three-year term.

The Planning Board has two seats, each with a three-year term.

There is one water commissioner position with a three-year term and sewer commissioner positions, with a three-year, two-year and one-year terms.

Lyndeborough and Wilton

In the Wilton-
Lyndeborough Cooperative School District, there’s one open position for School Board member in Lyndeborough for a three-year term, School Board member in Wilton for a three-year term, and School Board member at-large in Lyndeborough for a three-year term.

The open moderator position is a one-year term.

There are Budget Committee positions, each with a three-year term for Lyndeborough and Wilton, along with a Budget Committee member at large for Lyndeborough.

The district meeting will be held at 7 p.m., March 7.
