Donovan won’t run again for Wilton selectman
WILTON – Come March, there will be a new selectman in Wilton.
Dan Donovan has announced that he won’t seek what would be a fourth term.
The terms were not consecutive: He took a year off after his second term.
“It was a good experience,” he said recently in confirming his decision. “I learned a lot, but it’s time for somebody else.”
Preferably, that new person will be “someone younger,” Donovan said.
The term is for three years.
And no, Donovan added, he will not accept a write-in.
The filing for town offices opened Wednesday, Jan. 22, and runs through Friday, Jan. 31.
Filing is done with the town clerk during regular hours. However, the town office will be open until 5 p.m. on the final day.
