Wilton ambulance accident will not interrupt service
WILTON – Ambulance Director Gary Zirpolo reported to selectmen recently that the ambulance had met with a minor accident, hitting the edge of the garage as it was being pulled out.
Damage to the vehicle was about $3,600, mostly in labor on the inside, and no damage to the building. Insurance will cover all but the $1,000 deductible, which “we will find in the budget,” he said.
The ambulance was out of service for about a week, and there was no interruption of service.
“We will be using one of Milford’s old ambulances as a back up while the work is done,” Zirpolo said.
He expects the repairs to be made in March.
