Popular sledding spot, Bragdon Hill, between Amherst and Bedford closed due to icy conditions
AMHERST – Bragdon Hill, a popular sledding place on the border between Bedford and Amherst on Route 101, has been closed until further notice due to icy conditions.
An ambulance was called to the hill just past 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, after a sledding injury was reported.
Officials have not released details regarding the identity of the victim or the nature of injuries, only that it was an adult female.
“This is for prevention and risk management,” said Amherst Deputy Fire Chief Mark Conley regarding the shutdown. “More injuries are likely to occur and it would also be unnecessarily putting our rescuers at risk.”
