Wilton man arrested for prowling

WILTON – Within the last six weeks Wilton police have investigated a number of vehicle break-ins in the downtown and Abbott Hill Road areas, and on April 18, they arrested William Roman, 20, of Wilton, and charged him with prowling.

They are also investigating to see if he might be connected to any of the incidents.

According to a department press release, Officer Bill Hickerson was on patrol on Maple Street at about 1:10 a.m. when he encountered Roman leaving a driveway and knew that he did not live in the house. After a brief investigation, Hickerson determined that Roman was trying to break into a vehicle, police said.

Roman was released on $400 bail and given a court date of May 6.
