Memorial Day events


Milford’s Memorial Day observance is on Monday, May 26, with the parade assembling at the West Street Cemetery at 10 a.m.

The parade continues to Elm Street, stopping on the bridge and then preceding to the Milford Oval, and then to the VFW at One VFW Way.


Amherst will hold its annual sunset observance on Friday, May 30, with the parade stepping off at 6 p.m. on the common, with stops at four cemeteries and monuments and then back to the common for post-parade ceremonies around 7 p.m.


The Lyndeborough Memorial Day celebration has church services and cemetery observances beginning at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, May 25, at Center and South cemeteries. The parade forms at the school at 1 p.m., proceeds to the war memorials for services there, a speaker, music, rededication of the Village Common, and firing of the 1844 cannon at the end.


On Monday, May 26, a parade will form at the Legion Home on Maple Street, led by the Temple Band. The parade proceeds to the war memorials on Forest Road, where there will be memorial services and a guest speaker.
