Harwood Market in Wilton plans on hold
WILTON – Organizers of the proposed Harwood’s Farmers’ Market in Wilton say the project is “temporarily on hold” and declined further comment.
An account set up at St, Mary’s Bank is apparently not active and some checks have been returned to donors.
The proposed indoor market was to have been located in the former Harwood’s Market on Main Street and named in honor of Chet and Evelyn Harwood, who operated a grocery store there for many years.
The current occupant of the building, used as an outlet for Hayward’s Trading Post in Milford, said they have seen no activity on the site and have heard nothing from the building’s owner.
