Love Your Pet: Kaydee is a sweet Southern belle

Editor’s note: Send a story about your pet to news@cabinet.com or to The Cabinet Press, 54 School St., Milford, NH 03055.

I found Kaydee online. She is a Southern belle rescued from Tennessee. We had lost our beloved Frito, a gorgeous Chinook, to old age, and about 10 months later we got lucky and found our little girl.

She is a papillon/
border collie cross and just a bundle of love. She is so full of energy and super smart. I can’t imagine a day without her.

We adopted her at the Lakes Region Humane Society in Ossipee. They are a wonderful organization. We are also Facebook friends with her foster mom in Tennessee, which is wonderful because we can share pictures and stories with her as Kaydee grows up. It’s very rare to get that opportunity when you adopt. It is really nice to get a background and see pictures of her when she was first rescued. I feel fortunate every day that we found Kaydee.

My husband Paul and I live in Milford. We adopted Kaydee on April 14, 2012. She was just 4 months old and only 12 pounds, so I carried her everywhere, couldn’t resist it. Now she is a full grown 27 pounds and yes, I still carry her because she loves it, and look at that face – she is irresistible!
