Amherst woman featured at A Quilters’ Gathering
Milly Cunningham, of Amherst, a member of the Souhegan Valley Quilters’ Guild, was recently featured in a one-woman show titled “A Road Less Traveled” at the annual A Quilters’ Gathering in Manchester.
Fifteen of her creations were admired for their patterns and colors, and the unbelievable hand stitching and hand quilting that makes them true heirlooms.
For about 45 years, Cunningham’s passion for quilts has inspired many others, especially when they stopped into her shop Schoolhouse Gallery, first in Dunstable, Mass., and then in Tyngsborough, Mass. She has been tireless in promoting quilting as a teacher and a co-founder of the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Mass.
