Authors at Toadstool

LYNDEBOROUGH – S.S. Lange is a newly published author and if her books sell a small fraction of the number sold by her favorite author, James Patterson, she’ll be doing well.

Patterson has sold more than 300,000 copies of his thrillers and romance novels.

Lange and her book, “Long Lost,” will be at a booksigning event from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29 at the Toadstool Bookshop.

The debut novel is the first in Lange’s Charlotte Hayes Series and was released in August 2014.

Published by Novel Concepts Publishing, the book centers on Charlotte and her long-lost half-sister, who seems to be everything Charlotte hoped for in a sister. The truth of Jen’s past and her menacing fiance shatter that illusion as Charlotte is dragged into a world of drugs and prostitution.

In a phone interview last week, Lange said she has been writing short stories and poetry for as long as she can remember, but this is her first attempt at a full-length novel.

She chose to make it a suspense novel because “it’s the genre I like to read,” she said.

Additional titles in the series include “Blood is Thicker”, released in October 2014. “Almost Found” is the third in the series and is slated for release in early 2015.

Lange is a southern NH native, mother and wife who also runs an online business selling outdoor equipment with her husband called Gear & More.

Saturday is Small Business Saturday at Toadstool Bookshop and other local suspense authors will be there with Lange, including T. Stephens, author of “Dante’s Cipher,” Dale T. Phillips, author of “Shadow of Wendigo.” and John Hitchiner, author of “The Acolyte.”
