Meals on Wheels seeking donations, gifts for homebound in southern NH
MERRIMACK – St. Joseph Community Services, the provider of Meals on Wheels and community dining throughout Hillsborough County, is seeking holiday gifts for its elderly and disabled homebound clients.
Members of the community who wish to contribute can do so in two ways. All cash donations will provide the gift of hot meals – $42 for one week of meals, $84 for two weeks or $182 for one month of meals. Donors also may contribute gifts. The goal of this program is to present a gift to every homebound client in time for the holidays.
Some suggested holiday gifts are personal-size hand sanitizers, unscented hand and body lotions, shampoos, large-print books, soaps, facial tissues, washcloths, blankets, crackers, nonperishable cheeses, cookies, chocolates, candies, tea, coffee, cocoa, coffee mugs, puzzle books, blank note cards, stamps, playing cards or other appropriate unwrapped new items. Handcrafted gifts are also welcome.
