Milford men charged with robbing man in Cumberland Farms parking lot

MILFORD – Two Milford men were arrested last week after police say they entered a car parked in the parking lot of the Cumberland Farms store near the Milford Oval and assaulted the driver and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Brandon M. Fernandez, 21, of 18 Tonella Road #4, and James M. Neider, 20, of 47 Knight St., were both arraigned on Jan. 21.

Fernandez was charged with robbery, criminal liability for the conduct of another, second degree assault and simple assault. Neider is charged with robbery and criminal liability for the conduct of another.

Both men were arraigned in Milford District Court on Jan. 21. A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Jan. 28.

According to a police affidavit, around 6:30 p.m. Fernandez knocked on the driver’s side window of the victim’s car while Neider got into the front passenger seat. Then Fernandez got into the back seat and grabbed the victim’s neck, chocked him and hit his head. The men ran off with the victim’s wallet, said to contain about $200.

Both men gave themselves up at the Milford Police Station and were later transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. Fernandez’s bail was reduced to $5,000 cash or bond.
