Other projects in the works

MILFORD – Along with the start of the final phase of the Fletcher Paint Superfund cleanup this year, several other projects are pending: South Street improvements, replacement of the Jennison Road Bridge, extension of the water main into west Milford and improvements to the intersection of Route 13, Armory and Emerson roads.

The town will be sending the South Street project out to bid in April, said Town Administrator Mark Bender. In the meantime, drivers will have to put up with the road’s rough shape.

The work covers South Street from Union Square south to the railroad right-of-way and includes widening a portion of it, putting utilities underground from Union Square to the First Church of Christ Scientist, relocating utility lines away from the curb from the church to the railroad, and new sidewalks on both sides of the street.
