St. Joseph Hospital loans durable medical equipment

NASHUA – St. Joseph Hospital’s mission department, through the opening of Joseph’s Closet, will loan pre-owned durable medical equipment to individuals in need.

The program was organized by a group of women in collaboration with the mission integration department. Joseph’s Closet opened April 13.

The equipment is loaned free of charge. Joseph’s Closet isn’t responsible for subsequent repairs, and the equipment may be returned when no longer needed.

Durable medical equipment is any equipment used by individuals with disabilities for mobility purposes or in the course of treatment or home care, including such items as crutches, shower chairs, shower stools, tub transfer benches, commodes, wheelchairs, walkers, adaptive equipment and anything else you can imagine.

Donations of safe, usable equipment may be dropped off at these locations:

St. Joseph Healthcare Rehabilitation Services, 75 Northeastern Blvd., Nashua.

St. Joseph Hospital Rehab at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua, 2300 Southwood Drive.

Rehabilitation Services at SJ Family Medical Center, 382 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack.

Rehabilitation Services at St. Joseph Hospital Family Medicine, 208 Robinson Road, Hudson.

Rehabilitation Services at Milford Medical Center Physical Therapy, 442 Nashua St.

Rehabiliation Services at St. Joseph Hospital Family Medicine, 460 Amherst St., Nashua.

Joseph’s Closet is at 261 Lake St., Nashua.

People in need of equipment or who have equipment to donate may call 579-5634. Accessing the closet is by appointment only.
