Amherst church changing name

On Sunday, Sept. 13, the church on Middle Street in Amherst that has welcomed people for more than 175 years is changing its name. The First Baptist Church of Amherst will now be known as Village Bible Church.

This name and image update positively reflects not only the physical location – just a few steps away from the quintessential Amherst Village – but also the value placed on teaching the Bible with clarity and compassion.

At 10 a.m. Sept. 13, the morning worship service will celebrate the start of a new season with an unveiling of new signs. For information, visit village or call 673-4063.
