Temple Band welcomes members
TEMPLE – The Temple Band, "America’s First Town Band," will resume weekly rehearsals for its 2015-16 season from 7-9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at the Temple Town Hall.
New members are welcome to join on Monday nights through October.
The Temple Band is an all-volunteer, nonprofit community band drawing members, ranging in age from 10-85, from the Monadnock and Souhegan Valley regions of southern New Hampshire. There are no dues, fees or auditions required; however, two years’ experience on your concert band instrument is requested along with a commitment to try to make at least half of our rehearsals and shows. All concert band instruments are welcome.
Of special interest to high school musicians: The Temple Band offers an annual scholarship for seniors who have made a serious commitment to the band.
The Band meets for weekly rehearsals from 7-9 p.m. Mondays from October to May. Its performances include a December Christmas benefit performance and about 15 summer events scheduled throughout New England.
Town Hall is on Route 45 south off Route 101 in the center of Temple.
