Lyndeborough holds Veterans Day ceremony
LYNDEBOROUGH – To escape a cold drizzle on a gloomy day, the annual Veterans Day observances at 11 a.m. on Nov. 11, moved into Town Hall to keep the Layfayette Artillery Company’s 1844 cannon and powder dry.
The observance usually includes firing of the cannon by visiting veterans.
The ceremony was led by Artilleryman Lorraine Strube, who read a tribute to veterans, and included the playing of taps by trumpeter Christian Hettinger, of Wilton.
After the ceremony, held on the stage in front of the restored 100-year-old backdrop, refreshments were enjoyed.
