Search is on for missing man
MILFORD – State Fish and Game officers used photo equipment to search Railroad Pond last week after a car belonging to a missing man was found nearby.
Police say the last contact that the family of John H. Watkins, 23, had with him was on Christmas Eve in Merrimack.
The unoccupied vehicle was found in the First Congregational Church parking lot, which is adjacent to the pond.
Milford Police Capt. Shawn Pelletier said nothing significant turned up during the pond scan.
There have been no leads over the last three weeks, said Pelletier. Watkins’ family told police there had been "nothing too out of the ordinary" about him on Christmas Eve.
The missing man is described as thin – 5 feet, 4 inches and 100 pounds, with hazel eyes and long brown hair. He was said to be wearing a black shirt with a purple and white graphic design and black pants, and he may be wearing glasses.
Pelletier said he isn’t sure whether Watkins is employed. He has had some dealings with police, but "nothing major."
"We are just asking the public if anyone has seen him," he said.
