Superintendent finalists named

SAU 63, serving Wilton and Lyndeborough, announced the finalists for the position of superintendent of schools starting Friday, July 1. Dr. Lynn Carey, of Swanzey, is the interim assistant superintendent for the Monadnock Regional School District. Previously, she was a principal in Swanzey and at Fall Mountain.

Before becoming an administrator, Carey was a guidance counselor in various districts in New Hampshire and taught fourth grade. Carey received a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies at Fitchburg State College in educational leadership and management and a Doctor of Education in learning and leading through Walden University in Minneapolis. Bryan Lane, of Derry, is superintendent of schools in Hudson. Previously, he was principal at Alvirne High School for 14 years. He has been in other school administration positions in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Texas.

Lane began his education career as a science teacher in Texas. He received his Bachelor of Science from Springfield College in Massachusetts, Master of Educational Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in educational administration from the University of New Hampshire. Final district visitations and interviews were tentatively scheduled for the week of Feb. 8.
