Milford woman injured in Bedford crash

BEDFORD – A 68-year-old Milford woman was seriously injured Friday when a car driven by another woman crashed into her vehicle on Route 101 and then crashed into yet another car.

All three women, the sole passengers in their vehicles, were injured.

The collision happened late morning on Friday, June 10, near Covenant Way.

Witnesses told police a 1998 Toyota Camry was driving east at a high rate of speed, passing other cars by driving into the oncoming westbound lane.

The Toyota’s driver was identified as Mary Evans, 41, of Manchester.

As Evans tried to pass other cars, police said, she veered into the path of a 2000 Honda CR-V driven by Marie Borino, of Milford.

The impact sent the Honda off the road and into some trees. The Toyota then struck a 2015 Nissan Rogue head-on, with the two cars coming to rest in the middle of the road. The Nissan was driven by Diana Poulette, 78, of Bedford.

The women were taken to area hospitals by the Bedford Fire Department, and police say their injuries were serious, but not life-threatening.

The collision happened shortly before 11 a.m., and Route 101 was closed to traffic for about an hour. The three cars sustained heavy damage and were towed from the scene.

Bedford police say they continue to investigate.
