Scout finishes Citizens’ Hall project
p> LYNDEBOROUGH – Thanks to Eagle Scout candidate Ian Holden, there is now a picnic area behind Citizens’ Hall.
Holden, with the help of other members of Troop 10 of Wilton, completed the project on Saturday, Aug. 27. They put together two picnic tables and planted a maple tree and two lilac bushes.
The area was landscaped by the Highway Department after several old pine trees were removed and a new handicapped-access ramp and retaining wall were constructed.
Holden began planning the area last spring and raised funds through car washes.
The donated trees will be dedicated as memorials to several residents at a later date.
Holden was assisted by Scoutmaster Brent Manning, adult volunteers Peter Bullard, Mike McGonegal and Idena Holden, and troop members Shaine Pineault, Rowan McGonegal, Jarrod Manning and Sully Gray.
