Attic Finds to expand

WILTON – The Planning Board has given conditional approval to Attic Finds to expand its operation into the lower level of its Main Street store, the former Harwood’s Market.

Conditions include bringing an interior staircase up to code, adding an exterior stairway on the back for fire safety and providing Fire Chief Ray Dick with the plans.

Dick has verbally approved the concept.

Owner Matt Benoit, who also owns Antiques on the Oval in Milford, said the Wilton location has about 45 dealers who rent space. The lower level would add another two rooms and 2,500 square feet for the individual dealers.

Attic Finds sells quality used goods. The number of dealers has grown steadily during the last year, and the street-level area is about at capacity.

"A business has to grow," Benoit said. "To do that, we need more space."

October marks the first anniversary of both stores, and they will celebrate with sales.
