WILTON – Four years ago, longtime friends Karen Wilson and Liz Calabria opened Art Happens, a studio in the Pine Valley Mills. Their offerings grew with the number of students, and they began offering students’ artwork for sale.

On Thursday, April 6, they officially opened a new gift shop that includes the work of about 20 local artists. Tracy Hutchins, head of the Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce, hosted the event.

In addition to classes for every age from tots through adult, the studio hosts parties of all kinds and weddings.

Classes include drawing and painting, stained glass, mosaics, mixed media, wine glass painting and polymer clay work. They also hold an art camp for kids during the summer.

Last year, it was voted Best Art Studio in the Souhegan Region.

Pine Valley Mills is at 37 Wilton Road No. 7 in back of the mill building.
