Souhegan Valley Chorus to perform spring concert
You are welcome to sing along with the Souhegan Valley Chorus as they perform their 2017 Spring Concert, “How Can I Keep From Singing: Choral Favorites”. This concert features pieces spanning everything from Broadway to jazz to classic choral pieces and will be performed on Saturday, May 6, at the Amato Center in Milford.
Jennifer Kennedy Erdody, director of the Souhegan Valley Chorus states, “The concert features music that will delight both the singers and the audience alike. From the hit Broadway show ‘Jersey Boys’ comes a fun medley in which the chorus takes on the unique sound of Frankie Valli. Nat King Cole’s iconic song ‘L-O-V-E‘ is a jazz favorite, and the Beatles’ ‘Blackbird‘ provides a laid-back homage to Paul McCartney. Other songs include high-energy gospel pieces, classic choral pieces and ‘For Good,’ a featured song in Stephen Schwartz’s hit musical ‘Wicked.’ “.
Kimberly Vars Whitehead accompanies the chorus of 70+ members from the Milford-Amherst area and surrounding towns. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors and students, and is free for children 12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at The Toadstool Bookshop in Milford (cash or checks), from chorus members and at the door. Tickets are also available from SVC2017.brownpapertickets.com.
