Milford hikes substitute pay

The pay for substitute teachers will go up by $10 a day, to $75, the School Board decided Monday, June 19.

The pay hike, the first in decades, also includes an increase of $20 a day for long-term substitutes. Beginning on the 51st day a person works as a substitute, the rate will be increased to $85 per day.

The new pay scale will go into effect in September, and is expected to help Milford attract more substitute teachers.
