Wilton’s Summerfest scheduled for June 23

WILTON – The Main Street Association will again sponsor Summerfest, a day of family fun on June 23, beginning at 8 a.m. with breakfast on Main Street and ending with fireworks on Carnival Hill at 9 p.m. In between are live music, tours, demonstrations, games for kids and lots of food.

Additional sponsors include Cutting Tool Technology, Michaud Funeral Home, and Wilton Animal Hospital.

Public restrooms are located in the town hall and the fire station.

8 – 10:30 a.m., pancake breakfast in Main Street Park sponsored by Clinton Lodge #52, Free and Associated Masons of Wilton

10 a.m. – 4 p.m.: Main Street is closed for a street fair – vendors of all kinds, artists and artisans

10 – 10:45 – Local singer/song writer Justin Cohn, under the tent on the big stage.

10:45-11:15: acoustic performer Tom Carlson, on the big stage.

11 a.m., Noon, and 1 p.m.: Tours of the Riverview Mills studios, independent artists’ community, just a short walk from Main Street.

11:15 – Noon: The BelAires, doo-wop on the big stage.

Noon – 1 p.m.: The Fire Department will present a hands-on demonstration of the proper use of fire extinguishers – put out a fire in the Proctor Parking Lot.

1:15- 2 p.: Bluesy rock band Mama Love and the Dead Beat Daddies on the big stage.

2:30 – 3:30: local favorite Alex Preston, 2014 American Idol finalist, on the big stage.

3:30: Lions Club Duck Drop from the ladder truck


6 – 9 p.m.: Games for kids of all ages, sack races, egg toss, 3-legged races, tug-of-war, and The Famous Pie eating Contest., sponsored by the Wilton Community Center.

Music by DJ Solid Gold Productions.

Fireworks at dusk. Rain date is June 24.

Premium parking at Carnival Hill, $10 to benefit Main Street Association.
