Filing period open for town, school seats

Residents are encouraged to get involved with their town by considering to file for open town and school district seats.

The filing period for office in Hollis and Brookline runs through Friday, Feb. 3. The deadline to file a Petitioned Warrant Article is Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 3 p.m.

HOLLIS

Sign up to serve for a town seat at the town clerk’s office during regular business hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m., Mondays 7-9 p.m. Extended hours only for filing is Friday, Feb. 3 from 3-5 p.m. For more information, call Nancy Jambard, town clerk, at 465-2064.

Town:

Selectman – one three-year term; Budget Committee – two three-year terms; Trustee of Trust Funds – one three-year term; Library Trustee – three three-year terms; Cemetery Trustee – two three-year terms; Supervisor of the Checklist – one six-year term; Moderator – one two-year term; Treasurer – one three-year term. Meetings:

The town Bond/Budget public hearing is Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall community room.

Hollis Town Meeting, Election Day, is Tuesday, March 13, at 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Lawrence Barn.

Hollis Town Meeting/Budget Adoption is Wednesday, March 14, 7 p.m. at the Hollis Brookline High School, large gymnasium. If necessary, voters will reconvene Thursday, March 15, 7 p.m.

The Hollis School District Bond/Budget public hearing is Tuesday, Feb. 7, at 6:30 p.m. in the Town Hall community room.

The Hollis School District meeting is Monday, March 19, at 7 p.m. at Hollis Brookline Middle School; continued if necessary to March 20, same time.

The Hollis Brookline Coop School District Bond/budget public hearing is Monday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m., at the Hollis Brookline Middle School all-purpose room.

The Coop Annual Meeting is Monday, March 5, at 7 p.m. at the Hollis Brookline High School gym.

BROOKLINE

Sign up to serve for a town seat at the Town Clerk office at Town Hall during regular business hours: Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-2 p.m.; Wednesday 5-8 p.m.; and the last Saturday of the month 9 a.m.-noon.
