Simple Gifts hosts performer showcase

NASHUA – Simple Gifts Coffee House presents its seventh annual Local Performer Showcase on Saturday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m.

Simple Gifts welcomes Sarah Blacker as host and featured performer for the evening.

Blacker is a frequent co-host on MIT’s WMBR 88.1 FM radio with Joe G on his show, “Droppin’ Knowledge,” which airs Thursdays from 4-5:30 p.m.

You may also have seen her recently on TV in the “Ooh, ooh it’s love” Subaru ads for Subaru of New England.

She won the Radio 92.9 contest judged by thousands of voters, and chosen by Ernie Boch Jr.

Blacker is a multi-instrumentalist whose voice sets her apart from other female artists.

She blends jazz, folk, rock and blues into her poetic, pop-sensible pieces of art that make up more than 400 original songs.

Simple Gifts Coffee House is at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 58 Lowell St., (corner of Lowell and Canal streets) in Nashua.

Tickets will be available at the door only. All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire.

CASA recruits, trains and supervises volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children in the New Hampshire court system.

Suggested donation at the door for audience members is $10, and $5 for performers.

Signup for performers is completed, and no additional performers will be added to this show.

Simple Gifts Coffee House is nonprofit, and is run entirely by volunteers.

This venue is handicapped-accessible through the Grove Street entrance.
