Wild Salamander in Hollis holding Operation Christmas Card for military
HOLLIS – Join artist Sharon Spivak and staff at Wild Salamander Creative Arts Center to create holiday cards to send to troops overseas from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11.
Last year, Operation Christmas Card sent more than 400,000 holiday cards to troops at home and abroad.
“I love being a part of this important project because it gives me the opportunity to express my deep appreciation for the service our military men, women and families provide each day – so often taken for granted and underappreciated,” said Spivak, of Nashua, a Wild Salamander teacher.
“I once received a reply from one of my card recipients, who said, ‘Your card hangs on my office wall of fame and will be with me when I come home. Thank you so much!’
“For me, it doesn’t get better than that.”
Material donations will be accepted, and all cash donations will be sent to Operation Christmas Card to cover postage. All ages are welcome at this free event, with no registration needed.
Wild Salamander is at 30 Ash St. For more information, visit www.wildsalamander.com or www.operationchristmascard.org, or call 465-9453.
