False report, injuries investigated by Brookline police

BROOKLINE – Brookline police are investigating what happened at a Cranberry Lane home that generated a phony report of an intruder and one person being brought to the hospital.

Police were called to the home on the cul-de-sac off Parker Road sometime Jan. 15 when someone reported there was an intruder, according to a statement released by police.

Officers were able to secure the home and called the Brookline Ambulance Service who transported a person to a local hospital where he or she was treated and later released, police said.

Police conducted several interviews and determined that the original call of an intruder was a false report, police said.

The initial information from police did not include any other details of the incident, including the nature of the victim’s injuries or how they were injured or how many people were in the home.

Police are still investigating and will not release any more information until that investigation is finished, according to the statement.
