Brookline community suffers another fatal crash on Christmas Eve

BROOKLINE – The daughter of a Brookline firefighter died in a three-car accident on Tuesday morning at the intersection of routes 13 and 130, directly in front of the Brookline Safety Complex.

Police have not yet identified the victim, but Brookline Police Chief William Quigley told a reporter at the scene that she was the daughter of a first-responder.

“Her father was the one who pulled her out of the car without knowing it was her,” Quigley said. According to Quigley, the victim was heading southbound on Route 13 when she stopped to take a left turn onto Route 130.

Her silver Ford Explorer was hit from behind by a silver Toyota Tacoma, which pushed her vehicle into the oncoming path of a Ford F-250 pickup. Each vehicle was occupied only by the driver. The other two drivers were examined by ambulance personnel and released at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by state police. The Hollis Fire Department was called in to man the scene while first responders awaited the arrival of the state medical examiner.
