Police: Hollis speeding case leads to arrest on multiple drug offenses

HOLLIS – A 34-year-old local man faces felony drug possession charges after police stopped him for speeding last week, police said.

Jose A. Torres, of Lawrence Lane, is free on $3,000 cash or surety bail pending his April 30 arraignment in Nashua district court on three counts of possession of a controlled/narcotic drug with the intent to sell, all Class B felonies, and one count of transportation of a controlled drug, a Class A misdemeanor, according to police.

Torres was arrested around 9 a.m. April 2 after Officer David Duquette stopped a 2006 Honda for speeding on Worcester Road, police said.
