Hollis man charged with molesting 9-year-old girl

HOLLIS – A Hollis man remains behind bars after being charged with several counts of sexual assault on a child.

Michael Care, 52, of 451 Silver Lake Road, is being held on $25,000 cash bail at the Valley Street jail in Manchester as he awaits trial.

Care was arraigned April 25 in Nashua district court, according to court documents. The charges allege Care molested a 9-year-old girl multiple times by forcing the girl to touch him inappropriately.

The molestation is alleged to have occurred at Care’s Silver Lake Road home, court documents say. Alarm bells were raised when the victim’s mother noticed Care was taking an excessive amount of time to tuck the alleged victim into bed, according to court documents.

The molestation is said to have occurred while the victim’s brother was asleep and the victim’s mother was in a separate part of the house, court documents say.

Care allegedly groped the girl on at least three occasions between Dec. 15 and April 20.

Care is charged with two counts of felonious sexual assault and one count of aggravated felonious sexual assault.

If he posts bail, Care has been ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim or her family, to refrain from possessing a firearm and to refrain from alcohol and drugs.

Care is scheduled to appear at a probable cause hearing at Nashua district court on Thursday, May 8.
