Wildlife biologist to be guest speaker at annual meeting held by Hollis’ Beaver Brook Association

HOLLIS – The Beaver Brook Association will hold its annual meeting at the LaBelle Winery on Route 101 in Amherst on Thursday, Jan. 15.

The meeting will center on accomplishments and events that have occurred during Beaver Brook’s 50th year.

The keynote speaker will be Ben Kilham, a wildlife biologist who has been raising and studying orphan black bears for almost 20 years.

Kilham is the author of “Among the Bears: Raising Orphan Cubs in the Wild” and “Out on a Limb: What Black Bears Have Taught Me About Intelligence and Intuition.”

He has been filmed for the National Geographic Channel in shows “A Man Among Bears” and “The Bear Man,” as well as “Papa Bear” on the Discovery Channel.

His work has been featured on “Good Morning America,” “The Today Show” and “ABC Nightly News.”

There will be fun nature-themed silent auction items around the winery positioned by various mounted specimens of New England Wildlife.
