Brookline PTO holds online, live silent auctions to benefit schools

The Brookline PTO will hold the third annual Brookline PTO Silent Auction to benefit Richard Maghakian Memorial School and Captain Samuel Douglass Academy from 7-10 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Big Bear Lodge off Route 13.

This year’s adults-only event promises to be a whimsical evening filled with music, food, drinks and lots of items to bid on for the home, health and beauty items, sports and music memorabilia, travel packages, camps, museum passes and more.

Each year, the Brookline PTO coordinates and funds all of the in-school and off-site programming and curriculum enrichment Brookline elementary children enjoy throughout the school year. As a nonprofit organization, all of the funds the PTO raises go directly into covering the cost and sometimes supplementing the cost of great programs such as visits to the Museum of Science on electromagnetism and environmental science, visits to Squam Lake and field trips to Beaver Brook. Their students also have the opportunity to travel back in time and meet and learn the life story of Benjamin Franklin.

The Brookline PTO has had great success during the last two years, with last year’s auction bringing in more than $16,000. This year’s event will include a wide variety of items to bid on, a Tom Brady jersey raffle, wine auction, photo booth, hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.

Admission is $15 per person or $25 per couple at the door, or you can make advance reservations at biddingforgood.com/brooklinenhpto.

The event will kick off with a week of online bidding through the Brookline PTO Online Auction at biddingforgood.com/brooklinenhpto, which opens at 8 a.m. Friday, May 8, and closes at 10 p.m. Friday, May 15.
