Ribbon cutting held for Horse N’ Hound Physical Therapy in Hollis
HOLLIS – The Souhegan Valley Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate a new location for Horse N’ Hound Physical Therapy on Thursday, May 28, at 288 South Merrimack Road.
Horse N’ Hound provides physical therapy to veterinary-referred canine, equine and feline patients suffering from illness or injury that restrict their normal functional movement.
The new building will allow owners Jennifer and J.W. Brooks to treat horses in a rehabilitation equine barn. The facility also features a dog walking path.
The new facility is housed in a renovated 1840s barn.
“We cleaned and brought the barn right down to the studs,” J.W. Brooks said. “We reclaimed some of the siding for inside, cleaned all of the beams and stained the floor. We wanted to preserve as much of the original as we could.”
Horse N’ Hound will hold an open house from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 6, with music, food, demonstrations and raffles to kick off the grand opening.
At 1 p.m., there will be a free lecture on “How pet owners can help their pet age without pain” presented by Jennifer Brooks, PT CCRP, CERP.
Guests are welcome to see the new facility, pool and equine rehab barn, to walk the grounds and to participate in vendor raffles.
Vendors include Hollis Veterinary Hospital – Dr. Jill Patranagio; Timber Post Bed and Breakfast; Chris Parker – animal massage therapist; Mossy Creek Barn and Granite; Apex Physical Therapy – human physical therapy; Dr. Carol Vavra – animal acupuncture, DVM; Second Wind Water Systems; Long Horn Steak House; Karen Wessling – animal communicator; Peterborough Builders; Gunther’s Goodies Dog Treats; and Wet Nose Dog Training Academy.
