Nashua Soup Kitchen seeks volunteers

> NASHUA – The Nashua Soup Kitchen & Shelter needs help in several areas.

Breakfast crew – kitch­en: 6:45-8 a.m. Help serve breakfast and clean up. If you want to help cook, we need you at 6 a.m. Opportunities available Monday-Friday.

Receiving/sorting/shelv­ing – pantry volunteer: Two shifts available – 9 a.m.-1 p.m. or 1-3 p.m. Help un­load deliveries and sort items for pantry distribu­tion. Replenish food pantry shelves throughout shift as needed. Break down boxes. Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds necessary. Op­portunities available Mon­day-Friday. Help is espe­cially needed on the Friday afternoon shift.

Food pantry volunteer/escort: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Help with food pantry distribu­tion. Assist clients one-on-one with selecting items from our food pantry. Op­portunities available Mon­day-Friday.

Evening meal prep – kitchen: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Help with meal preparation for the evening dinner. Op­portunities available Mon­day-Friday.

Food pantry volunteer: 3-5:30 p.m. Help restock pantry shelves, including the refrigerators and freez­ers, after pantry is closed for the day. Break down boxes. Clean up. Wipe down all counter surfaces. Mop floors. Ability to lift and move up to 20 pounds necessary. Op­portunities available Mon­day-Friday. 7:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday shift is also avail­able.

Dinner crew – kitchen: 4-7 p.m. Typical tasks may include help with serving dinner, waiting on tables for families, assisting in the din­ing room (busing and clean­ing tables, assisting with drink refills), washing dishes, kitchen cleanup.

You must be at least 12 to volunteer.
