Boys & Girls Club plans performance to celebrate anniversary

MILFORD – For 20 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley in Milford has been in the forefront of youth development in the community, with a particular focus on providing opportunities for young people from disadvantaged economic, social and family circumstances.

Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to be great today and reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens tomorrow.

For the last 10 years, the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley’s home has been "at the bend" in the Souhegan Valley river. Our facility is located in the former Souhegan Valley Theatre, previously the home of the American Stage Festival and Playhouse 101.

During the last decade, Boys & Girls Club staff members and volunteers have empowered thousands of youths in the Souhegan Valley, changing many young people’s lives. Whether performing onstage or participating in our after-school and vacation programs, children have experienced life-changing programs that help them perform better academically, develop good character and leadership skills, and adopt healthy lifestyles.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, we will celebrate the impact our organization has on the Souhegan Valley community by revisiting theater performances from the last 10 years, reflecting on our 20- year success as a youth development organization, and welcoming back many of the talented young people, supporters, volunteers, staff and board members who helped shape our history.

All are invited to join our celebration at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts, 56 Mont Vernon St. Tickets are $25, and include a 6:30 p.m. reception with appetizers and cash bar.

Show curtains open at 8 p.m.

Tickets are available atGC.

Proceeds will benefit the programs of the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley.
