Practice bus run planned in Hollis
Hollis kindergarten and first-grade students and their parents/guardians are invited to participate in a practice bus run on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
This event is designed to help children learn the routine of riding the bus and for the school to communicate bus safety rules before the first day of school, which is Thursday, Sept. 3.
The buses will leave the bus yard at 8:30 a.m. to begin their routes. The routes take about 20 minutes to complete, and parents should wait with their children at their designated stop. The buses will depart about 9:15 to begin the trip home.
No siblings may ride the bus on Sept. 2. Parents/guardians may choose to send a child on the bus without an adult; however, the bus driver will not drop off a child without a parent/guardian waiting at the stop.
The practice bus run is sponsored by the Hollis Woman’s Club, and the event is coordinated by the Hollis Elementary Parent Teacher Association.
