5K race set for Pepperell

The Friends of Pepperell Recreation’s fourth annual Covered Bridge 5K Race is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27.

Run the beautiful race course or come cheer on the runners. Stop by Town Field to listen to some music and enjoy the morning. This community race will include a 1K Kids Fun Run beginning and ending at Town Field.

This year, organizers are expecting a local company mascot to make an appearance at the kids race. Postrace activities are expected to include music and displays from organizations and businesses at the first Pepperell Fall Fair.

Registrations and race check-in are available from 3-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Sis McGrath Community Center and again on race day morning. The race will be held rain or shine.

There will be photo zones at the Prudence Wright Covered Bridge, water stops along the way and a fun fair at Town Field.

"Partner" and "Supporter" race sponsors are 1A Auto; KRM Carpentry; Masy Systems; North Middlesex Savings Bank; William M. Auffinger, DDS, PC; Arch Fitness; Southern New Hampshire Health System; Cumberland Farms; Evans on the Common; and J.A. Sports Apparel.

Contributors include Kimball Fruit Farm, Launch Trampoline Park, Nashoba Valley Ski Area, Breen’s Diner, Davis Family Farm Adventures, Donelan’s Supermarkets, MassageMore, Pepperell Recreation, the Family Tree Child Care Center, N.M. Giving Tree Program, Pepperell Beverage, Shop Pepperell and DJ Connection.

The Pepperell Auxiliary Police will keep the runners safe and direct traffic. Pepperell Boy Scout Troop 13 will staff the water stop. Pepperell Girl Scout Cadettes Troop 11195 will help with the fun run. The race director is Rob Kosman.
