DAR chapter to show ‘Last Days in Vietnam’
The Anna Keyes Powers chapter of the DAR in Hollis will continue its participation in the commemoration of the 50th anniversary Vietnam War at its October meeting with the showing of the movie "The Last Days in Vietnam."
The meeting will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the Lawrence Barn in Hollis.
The public is invited, especially veterans and veterans groups. Refreshments will be served.
The U.S. Department of Defense is sponsoring the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War as an ongoing project through 2017. The Anna Keyes Powers chapter will hold two Vietnam commemorative programs each year.
The DAR is a national service organization for women with 180,000 members worldwide. It was founded in 1890 to promote patriotism, preserve American history and support education.
