Winners announced in Old Home Days Apple Pie Contest

HOLLIS – Thanks to the many bakers who made the Hollis Old Home Days Apple Pie Contest a success this year!

We had an incredible turnout for the Junior Division, and I hope these talented young bakers will enter again next year. They had some of the most beautifully decorated pies in the contest!

We offered an open division this year. The only requirement was that the pie had to have apples in it. Three outstanding pies were entered, one topped with pastry reminiscent of cinnamon rolls, and was incredibly creative.

Below are the top finishers in each category, and for the first time, an overall top pie.

  • Adult Division: Carol Seale, first place; Ashley Phillips, second place, Leah Riseman, third place.
  • Student Division: Holland Traver, first place; Chris Aulbach, second place; Naomi Kopser, third place.
  • Junior Division: Julie McLaughlin, first place; Aliya Lewis, second place; Isabella and Olivia, third place.
  • Open Division: Maya Naughton, first place; Lori Dwyer, second place; Blake Scholefield, third field.

The overall winner was K.C. Bower.
