Currier director to present at Hollis Woman’s Club meeting
The Hollis Woman’s Club, celebrating its 110th anniversary, will present Bruce McColl, director of art education at the Currier Museum of Art, as its first guest speaker on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the Lawrence Barn.
McColl will share information about the Currier Museum past and present and preview the exhibits the Currier has for 2015-16.
McColl was born in Waterford, Mich., in 1966. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Brown University in 1988. After playing professional ice hockey in Gotland, Sweden, he retired from his life on the ice.
He was awarded a Master of Fine Arts in painting from Wayne State University in 1994. After his graduate studies, McColl was an instructor of fine art at Tabor Academy in Massachusetts, and an instructor of art and art history at Bristol Community College in Fall River, Mass.
In 2005, McColl was appointed director of the Currier Museum Art Center. In 2015, he was appointed director of art education at the Currier Museum of Art, overseeing all educational initiatives.
The meeting will begin with a social from 9-9:30 a.m., followed by a brief business meeting. McColl will present at 10:30.
