Hollis artist to hold open studio over two weekends
HOLLIS – Stephen Previte will hold his annual fall open studio from noon-4 p.m. on the weekends of Oct. 17-18 and 24-25 at 112 Silver Lake Road.
Previte was born and raised in East Boston and has lived in Hollis for many years. He is a self-taught artist working with oil paint in a style he describes as "Representational Impressionism." His subject is that of light and atmosphere focused mainly on the rural landscape and its architecture.
He shows his paintings throughout New England and New York. Among his exhibits and awards are Manchester Art Association Artist of the Year for 1988-89; Currier Museum of Art, Manchester, 1997, 2007 and 2008 NHAA exhibit; Whistler House Museum of Art, Lowell, Mass., 1996 Invitational Exhibit.
