Scouts to hold food drive
HOLLIS – One in 3 people served by food banks are children.
It is reported today that nearly 1 of 4 people in soup kitchen lines are likely to be a child.
More than 1 in 3 households being helped by local food banks and pantries include children.
A Scouting for Food effort will benefit more than 150 pantries, kitchens and closets throughout New Hampshire.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, Scouts will deliver door hangers throughout Hollis, and on Saturday, Nov. 14, they will return to collect donated nonperishable food items left outside.
If you receive a door hanger, please make sure to leave your donations in a visible location outside your front door or by the base of your mailbox by 8.30 a.m. Nov. 14.
The most needed items include nonperishable food and hygiene donations.
