Hollis youths to perform in ‘Nutcracker’ from Nov. 27-29
MANCHESTER – Several local youths will perform in the Palace Theatre’s annual production of the timeless classic "The Nutcracker" in six performances from Nov. 27-29.
Performers will include Alexandra Campbell, Gillian Campbell and Joel Goodman, all of Hollis; Sierra Horne, of Milford; and Caroline Baggs and Maille Zelko, of New Boston.
Allie Campbell, 16, of Hollis Brookline High School, will perform as a Mirliton Soloist. She will also perform as a Flower in Waltz of Flowers, Spanish Ensemble and a Snowflake in Snow.
Campbell has been dancing with Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater for more than 10 years and has also trained with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in its five-week summer intensive for two years.
"This is my ninth year performing in ‘The Nutcracker.’ It’s an opportunity to perform with a live orchestra and many guest artists, which makes it a very good experience," Campbell said.
She will be joined onstage by her 13-year-old sister, Gillian Campbell. Gillian, who attends Hollis Montessori School, will perform the roles of a Flower in Waltz of Flowers, Snowflake in the Snow Scene, an Elf and the Dance of the Mirlitons.
Goodman, 12, will perform the roles of Party Boy in Party Scene and Soldier.
Horne, 14, of Milford High School, will perform as a Flower in Waltz of Flowers, Chinese Soloist, Columbine Doll and in the Dance of the Mirlitons.
Baggs, 13, will perform as an Elf, Mouse and Candy Cane. Zelko, 12, will perform as a Mouse
and in the Candy Cane Ensemble.
Southern New Hampshire Dance Theater will be accompanied by a live orchestra at the Palace Theatre in downtown Manchester. For show times and ticket information, call 668-5588 or visit www.palacetheatre.org.
